Power Station Runtime

CPAP battery planning

CPAP Power Station Runtime Calculator

Estimate how long a portable power station can run a CPAP device, or calculate the battery size needed for one or more nights.

This page is for electrical runtime planning only. It does not provide medical advice and should not be used to change therapy settings, disable medically necessary features, or replace guidance from your CPAP manufacturer or healthcare provider.

Average load: 53 W

Official typical device consumption. The 90 W supply rating is not treated as the average load.

+ Advanced battery settings

Use only manufacturer-approved DC accessories. A generic DC cable can damage equipment or create unsafe operation.

How long will a 1000Wh power station run a CPAP?

These estimates use the same calculation functions as the calculator above with a 1000Wh battery, 100% charge, 95% battery health, 10% reserve, and 88% efficiency. Runtime nights use 8 hours per night.

Generic custom-watt examples

Use a custom watt value when your exact model is not listed. The best inputs are manufacturer documentation or a measured average from a plug-in power meter.

Typical consumption vs power supply rating

A CPAP power brick may be rated for more watts than the device normally uses. This calculator uses typical consumption or documented battery-guide examples where available, not the adapter rating as average load.

Humidifier and heated tube impact

Humidifiers and heated tubes can materially increase energy use. This page lists those differences only when an official source provides a documented example, and otherwise lets you enter a measured custom average.

Custom CPAP watt mode

If your model is not listed, choose Custom average watts. Use the manufacturer documentation or measure your usual setup with a power meter. Do not change prescribed therapy settings just to lower wattage.

AC inverter vs approved DC

AC use normally includes inverter losses. DC operation may be more efficient only when you use accessories approved for your exact CPAP and power station.

Disclaimer

Results are estimates for electrical planning only. Actual runtime can vary with device configuration, humidification, heated tubing, mask leaks, altitude, temperature, battery condition, inverter losses, and other connected loads.

Do not disable medically necessary features or change prescribed settings to extend battery runtime. Follow your CPAP manufacturer instructions and healthcare provider guidance.
